Thanks to all those who have participated so far in the tryout process for the SLC Club teams! As mentioned earlier, after the initial set of tryouts participants will be notified as to whether they’ve been selected to play with the A or B team at GRUB. Both teams will be participating at the GRUB tournament (http://gru.org/archive/grub-2008) in Boulder, Colo. on July 19-20. At this time, the rosters listed below are for GRUB only; the tryout committee will continue to evaluate players at GRUB and open practices with the final fall series A and B team roster decisions coming after GRUB. The people listed on the Golden Spike GRUB roster below are the people being actively considered for the fall series Golden Spike (A team) roster.

Welcome to 2008 Salt Lake mixed club team tryouts! The goal of these tryouts is to bring together all those interested in playing at club co-ed ultimate tournaments this summer and fall – these tryouts are a chance to enjoy the time to learn from each other, expand upon skills, and find out about the possibilities of playing with either of two awesome teams from Salt Lake! Golden Spike or Chasing Tail!
Golden Spike is planning to make another run at a bid for nationals, and these tryouts will be used to select the full Golden Spike roster. The tryout committee this year consists of 5 people: Chris Watkins, Scott McNally, Jesse Adams, Amanda Wing, Mo Stamp (selected by the votes of appx. 35 people including Golden Spike and Chasing Tail players and others who have been showing up to coed practices this spring).
If you want to play with Golden Spike (“A” team) but are unable to participate in some (or even all) of the tryout dates let us know; you may be considered on a case-by-case basis...

The fields are located high in the mountains, where the air is clean and the summer temperatures are perfect for ultimate. The fields are in great condition, and provide just the right cushion for laying out without slowing you down. We look forward to seeing you at this great tournament in the amazing mountains of the Wasatch Front!
Registration bids are due by July 1, 2008. Please see the tournament page for more details.
The Fairmont Pickup game that has been played for decades at Fairmont park has been relocated to the softball fields on the south end of Sugarhouse park. The Fairmont fields are in very poor condition, and the regular players thought it was time to get on some better fields. This change may only be temporary until the freeway exits near 2100 south are finished.
If in doubt, you should use the Fairmont email system to get a hold of other players.
