Winter League 2010

Hello All,

We'd like to invite you to play some indoor ultimate this winter - online Winter League sign-up is now available.

What: Ultimate: Co-ed, indoor, full-field, 7v7. Gender ratios will depend upon participation.
Where: Spence Eccles Field House, 650 S. Guardsman Way (1580E.)
When: Sunday evenings, Jan. 3-Mar. 21
Time: Each team will have one game/night starting at 6:30, 7:50, or 9:10 p.m.
Who: All skill levels are welcome and encouraged.
Cost: $55, payable to Salt Lake Ultimate

Also, we wanted to let you all know that we will be closing winter league sign up by December 15th. (We have to make the teams at some point ) Depending on how many people are signed up there will be a waiting list- and if payments have not been received by the time of a players first game (unless a payment plan has been worked out) then players from the waiting list will have the option of being added.

I'm really looking forward to winter league, 7's on a full field!

Regarding the 15th cutoff: any chance someone could post an A-Z list of those who have registered. I signed up and my check is in the mail but I'm a little paranoid regarding technology: wouldn't want to miss out if for some strange reason something went wrong after I hit send. Its a little late but there's still a few days until the 15th and it would give me a warm fuzzy feeling inside seeing my name on that list knowing for sure that my entry went through.

I know that not that many people read this forum but do we have any predictions as to what team will take the winter league 2010 title.... I like to bet but......instead

Team 4: 7-2
All other teams: 3-6

Looks like next week will be interesting, teams 4 and 6 are guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, while all the other 4 teams have a shot at the last two spots.
Tie breakers, if needed, will go like this (from the UPA):
1. W-L records, between the tied teams
2. Point diff, between the tied teams
3. Point diff, all games
4. Point diff, all games, excluding ea. teams best and worst diff
5. Points scored, between the tied teams
6. Points scored, all games
7. Points scored, all games, excluding ea. teams best and worst scores
8. Sum of the square root of the absolute values of the point diff, all games
9. Flip a disc

Why is no one is updating the scores on the winter league page?

'Cause I completely forgot. It's updated now-thanks!. Just so folks know, in the standings, I think the google document isn't using the same tie-breaker formulas we'll have to use at the end. So, I'm the official word on what your seed is for the playoffs at the end of everything.

2 seed: Team 4 (8-2)
3 seed: Team 1 (4-6)
4 seed: Team 5 (3-7, and owned the tiebreaks!)

Schedule for next week is:

6:30: 3 seed vs. 2 seed
7:50: 1 seed vs. 4 seed
9:10: FINALS!
