Ski Town Classic 2008

Ski Town Classic

The Ski Town Classic is an Ultimate Frisbee tournament hosted near Park City, Utah. The fields are located high in the mountains, where the air is clean and the summer temperatures are perfect for ultimate. The fields are in great condition, and provide just the right cushion for laying out without slowing you down. We look forward to seeing you at this great tournament in the amazing mountains of the Wasatch Front!

Registration bids are due by July 1, 2008. Please see the tournament page for more details.

Fairmont Pickup Moved to Sugarhouse

The Fairmont Pickup game that has been played for decades at Fairmont park has been relocated to the softball fields on the south end of Sugarhouse park. The Fairmont fields are in very poor condition, and the regular players thought it was time to get on some better fields. This change may only be temporary until the freeway exits near 2100 south are finished.

If in doubt, you should use the Fairmont email system to get a hold of other players.

Salt Lake City Co-ed Ultimate 2008

Now that the outdoor season is upon us, it’s time to get our competitive co-ed teams up and running again. We encourage everyone who has an interest in playing competitive co-ed ultimate this summer to come out for some casual pick-up and training. This will start Wednesday May 7th at 6pm at Sunnyside Park.

Last season Salt Lake City had two teams based on an A/B format that traveled and competed extensively. Golden Spike and Chasing Tail represented the valley well, with Golden Spike missing out on a trip to UPA Nationals by one game at NW Regionals....

Daweena 2008

Last Storm of The Winter

Daweena, Utah's premiere ultimate tournament, will be held this year on May 3rd and 4th, 2008. The deadline for registration is April 5th, 2008. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Daweena, it is one of Utah's longest traditions when it comes to Ultimate Frisbee. It started in 1987, and continues to be an event that local and national teams look forward to. Here's a blurb from the Daweena website:

"For over 20 years teams have been crossing the mountains, crossing the lake, crossing the border, fighting the winds, snows, and sunburns, hucking, hoing, and skying, and starting their long treck toward the UPA national championships. We have hosted national champions and pickup squads, from as close as Salt Lake City and as far as Georgia. We look forward to seeing the faces that have come to define the tournament and the faces of the next generation of ultimate players. Who will take the coveted crown this year? Can anyone stop Rare Air? Will Bravo come as Bravo this year? The best way to know is to be here. See you all in May."

If you are interested in registering your team for this event, or need other information, please visit the official Daweena page here. If you still have questions, please send email to: germain@cs.utah.edu.

Some traveling teams are in need of floor space for Daweena. If you are interested in providing space, please send email to the address above.
