Dear Ultimate Community,
UltimateSLC is coming up on it's second anniversary. I am certain that your participation on this website has been a huge asset to the growth of ultimate in our city. I appreciate those of you who take the time to participate in the forum discussions and post events on the calendar.
This site needs your financial contribution to continue and grow. First of all, web hosting payments will be due in a few months. Secondly, I am hoping to generate enough donations to do some promotional activities. I would like to print some shirts, discs, and stickers with the UltimateSLC logo, as well as possibly hold a one-day local tournament this summer.
None of things will be possible without some funding, so I am asking all of you to consider making a donation. No amount is too big or too small. Your contribution will be used solely for UltimateSLC expenses. Administrators on UltimateSLC, including myself, do not "charge" for the time we spend updating and adding new features to the site. In other words, no one is going out to dinner on your donation.
Thank you all for your friendship and participation on UltimateSLC. Make a donation here!
-Joey Wilson

UltimateSLC has recently undergone some significant changes to both the underlying framework and design. These changes will allow UltimateSLC to be a huge resource to the ultimate Frisbee community in Salt Lake City and nearby regions. Here's what's new, and why it matters to the users of this site.
The new changes to UltimateSLC will allow the community to host their own content here on the site. As part of it's mission to bring together local ultimate groups, UltimateSLC will provide the community a hassle-free way to publish their information online. For example:

The UltimateSLC search feature has been around for a while, but few people realize how handy it can be. Need to search for an obscure rule in the official ultimate rulebook? The UltimateSLC search feature will find it. If you want to search past discussions that have occurred in the forums, it will do that too. It even searches other local sites like utah-ultimate.org. Try it out! Please be patient while Google re-indexes our new site structure. The search may return pages that have moved, but should correct itself after a few days.
UltimateSLC now uses an award winning "content management system" called Drupal. Drupal makes adding new content to a website and editing it extremely efficient and powerful. It manages the pages, menus, and content of the site, and allows the administrators to create accounts for users to add their own content.

The 2008 women's indoor practices will be held every Monday from 8:00pm - 10:00pm in the University of Utah Eccles indoor football facility (click for a map) starting this week (January 7, 2007). The Eccles Field House is a state-of-the-art indoor facility, and the organizers of this practice have worked hard to secure a time to use it. This is an excellent chance for salt lake's women ultimate players to stay in shape and improve their game over the winter. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged to attend these practices.
For more information, please view the women's indoor practice thread in the forums, or contact bakeret@gmail.com. This event is also listed on the calendar.
