Now that the outdoor season is upon us, it’s time to get our competitive co-ed teams up and running again. We encourage everyone who has an interest in playing competitive co-ed ultimate this summer to come out for some casual pick-up and training. This will start Wednesday May 7th at 6pm at Sunnyside Park.

Last season Salt Lake City had two teams based on an A/B format that traveled and competed extensively. Golden Spike and Chasing Tail represented the valley well, with Golden Spike missing out on a trip to UPA Nationals by one game at NW Regionals....

This season it’s anticipated that there will once again be at least two teams in a similar A/B format as last year competing in the UPA Fall Series. However, earlier in the season we’d like to experiment with an X/Y (even teams) or open/women format competing at a few tournaments. This will require less commitment at the earlier stages of the season, and it will give everyone a chance to practice and play together.

At an as yet to be determined date (most likely decided by selectors/captains) we will once again hold tryouts for Golden Spike and Chasing Tail, and thereafter the commitment level and training schedule will increase. So for now the details are:

What: Co-ed pick-up and training
When: Every Wednesday at 6pm – initial date May 7th, 2008
Where: Sunnyside Park (About 800 South and 1700 East)
Why: To gauge the interest level and get everyone playing together
